History
2008 and Onward PDF

From its humble beginnings of a few friends getting together for a bit of stick and ball, some exercise and a few beers; a team that was originally founded in 1995 for a social get together has grown into a highly competitive and passionate club. With our 1st XI flourishing in its first year under Victorian under age State team coach Mick Van Nugteren, there are very high hopes of a successful 2008 in State League 3, with the club on the verge of joining the traditional powerhouse clubs of the inner east.

2010 will see the club boasting four - if not five - senior teams: dependent on recruiting from within Xavier, our extensive network and the ever increasing influx of ex-Xaverians leaving other clubs, wanting to be a part of something exciting. This year players have joined from the top teams of Hawthorn, Kew and TEMS to name just a few. With our 2nds team playing Pennant in 2010, there is an extremely exciting few years ahead: State League 2 is well within reach, especially with our fantastic new coaching staff. Other extras include an official away kit, our own Facebook page, a club physio, and great deals with our major sponsors.

With premierships in State League 5 and 4 under our belts, an influx of school leavers over the past 4 years and one of the most respected coaches in Victoria, anything is possible. However, to continue with this growth and successes of the club we need to recruit passionate Xaverians (and others) that want to help grow the club, that enjoy a very competitive level of hockey, and that can look forward to an active social calendar with a great group.

The club prides itself on a vibrant social scene that is fostered through regular events that include jumper presentation evenings, booze cruises, pub crawls, go karting, paint ball, formal balls, fund raising auctions, and regular BBQ€™s and get togethers. This is not forgetting our infamous end-of-season Brownlow Count and season review - where all players who received yellow cards are liable for a slab of premium beer for their indiscretions.

Sounds like fun? Well its that and much more. We are looking not only for school leavers but Xavier students and friends of all ages and abilities. Although the majority of players are ex-Xaverians we more than welcome anybody wanting to join the club (including females). We are very eager to grow our player base and are even considering entering a junior team next year! Our home ground is Camberwell, however with your support and our unprecedented growth, we will have our own home in a few short years.
